DEUTSCHLAND: Wohlbefinden von Kindern nur auf Platz 25 – Studie kritisiert Bildung und Armut

Kindern in Deutschland geht es laut einer neuen UNICEF-Studie in vielen Lebensbereichen schlechter als Gleichaltrigen in anderen wohlhabenden Staaten. Deutschland landet im internationalen Vergleich nur auf Platz 25 von 37 Ländern. Besonders kritisch bewertet das UN-Kinderhilfswerk die anhaltend hohe Kinderarmut und die schwachen Leistungen vieler Jugendlicher in Lesen und Mathematik. Nur 60 Prozent der 15-Jährigen erreichen demnach die Mindeststandards. Die Studie sieht Deutschland deutlich hinter seinen Möglichkeiten zurück.
