Nel Duomo di Napoli si è ripetuto il miracolo della liquefazione del sangue di San Gennaro, patrono della città. Il sangue è risultato sciolta già quando l'Arcivescovo di Napoli, il cardinale Don Mimmo Battaglia, ha preso l'ampolla dalle reliquie. Durante la sua omelia il cardinale Battaglia ha paragonato il sangue del Santo a quello dei bambini di Gaza, usando parole molto ferme e molte nette contro l'offensiva israeliana contro i palestinesi. Si è rivolto direttamente ad Israele dicendo: "cessa di versare il sangue dei palestinesi".
