Trump ordena una reducción de los ejercicios militares conjuntos con la República de Corea

El presidente de EE. UU., Donald Trump, ha ordenado una reducción de forma sustancial la participación estadounidense en los ejercicios militares conjuntos con la República de Corea, programados para este lunes.

La medida busca rebajar los elevados costos que estas maniobras representan para Washington. Trump reconoció que llegó a considerar su cancelación, pero finalmente optó por reducir su participación.

El presidente estadounidense cuestiona estas maniobras al considerar que envían un mensaje hostil a la República Popular Democrática de Corea, un país que, a su juicio, no representa una amenaza para Washington. Además, Trump expresó su malestar con Seúl por no respaldar los esfuerzos de Estados Unidos para la desnuclearización de Irán.
