Rahel Ott shows how domestic violence begins, what red flags to look out for and explains how to support victims in getting out of the cycle of violence. She encourages us to break the silence and get professional help quickly. Rahel Ott was born in Schaffhausen in 1985. In 2010, she completed her studies in sociology, social psychology and criminology at the University of Zurich. Subsequently, she worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Criminology at the University of Zurich. From October 2016 on, Rahel Ott has been co-responsible for the Intervention Center against Domestic Violence, a professionally independent unit within the Zurich Cantonal Police. In this function, she coordinates and manages the interdisciplinary cooperation on the topics of domestic violence and stalking in the Canton of Zurich. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
