El ataque de Estados Unidos e Israel contra Irán en 2026 dejó en evidencia los límites de la relación entre Teherán y China.

Aunque ambos países firmaron un acuerdo estratégico en 2021, Beijing evitó involucrarse militarmente y respondió solo con llamados diplomáticos a la negociación. La razón es económica: para China, Irán representa una parte relativamente pequeña de su suministro energético.

La verdadera prioridad de Beijing es la estabilidad del Estrecho de Ormuz, por donde circula una gran parte del petróleo que alimenta su economía.
