Sikap tersebut dilakukan Trump lantaran Qatar telah menjadi sekutu AS yang sangat baik.
Pernyataan itu disampaikan Donald Trump pada Senin (15/9/2025).
“Yah, dia tidak akan memukul di Qatar,” kata Trump, merujuk pada Netanyahu mengutip Anadolu.
“Qatar telah menjadi sekutu yang sangat baik, dan banyak orang tidak menyadarinya. Tapi dia (Netanyahu) tidak akan menyerang Qatar lagi. Dia mungkin akan menyerang mereka (Hamas),” tegasnya.
Kendati Trump menyatakan Israel tak akan menyerang Qatar, namun pernyataan itu tetap menimbulkan pertanyaan.
Pasalnya, langkah itu kemungkinan akan diminimalisir Perdana Menteri Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Atas hal itu, kemungkinan Israel masih akan menyerang Qatar, namun tidak sebesar seperti pekan lalu.
Yakni, masih bisa melakukan operasi militer terbatas.
Selain itu, bisa juga melakukan serangan yang lebih terarah terhadap tokoh Hamas yang dianggap penting.
Sebelumnya, Trump menyatakan tak ikut campur soal serangan Israel terhadap Hamas di Qatar, Selasa (9/9).
Trump justru menyalahkan Israel dengan menegur keras Perdana Menteri, Netanyahu.
Trump mengklaim ia tidak diberi tahu sebelumnya mengenai serangan Israel terhadap negara Teluk tersebut.
Lantas, hal itu yang membuat Trump geram mengingat Qatar selama ini menjadi pihak penengah penting dalam negosiasi antara Israel dan Hamas.
