Die Dänische Südsee ist ein Paradies, das 55 Inseln und Holme umfasst, eingebettet zwischen dem Kleinen Belt und Großen Belt. Die meisten Eilande sind unbewohnt, nicht mal einen Quadratkilometer klein und mit exotisch klingenden Namen wie Avernakø, Skarø oder Birkholm. Jede Insel hat ihren eigenen Mikrokosmos mit wenigen Nachbarn, maximal einen Kaufmannsladen gibt es. Das türkisblaue Ostseewasser rund um die kleinen "grünen Punkte" wird von Seglern wegen seiner Herausforderungen geschätzt und gilt als eines der beliebtesten Segler- und Angelreviere unter Touristen.Wer dauerhaft dort leben möchte, muss auch ohne Kino oder Krankenhaus klarkommen. Die Fähren als einzige regelmäßige Festlandsverbindung bestimmen den Takt der Insulaner. Ständig auf Expedition in der Einsamkeit oder pure Freiheit und wirkliche Gemeinschaft?
