Il 27 giugno 1980 il DC-9 Itavia precipita al largo di #Ustica. Il 18 luglio un MiG-23 libico si schianta sul costone di Castelsilano, in Calabria. Due tragedie distinte, che la vulgata ha fuso in un solo, cinematografico scenario: la battaglia nei cieli, il caccia rimasto nascosto nei boschi per tre settimane. Ad Astrea, Rosanna Piras mette questa versione davanti a chi c’era davvero.

C’è l’ammiraglio Sergio #Biraghi, che quel 18 luglio riceve la telefonata del generale Tascio: “È un MiG-23, è tutto pieno di scritte russe”. Manda sul posto il suo interprete, ascolta le comunicazioni del gregario che chiama per minuti un compagno che non risponde più. E consegna al giudice Priore un intero armadietto di documenti, che a un certo punto sparirà. Per fortuna, lui aveva tenuto le copie.

C’è il comandante #Cecconello, pilota collaudatore del Reparto Sperimentale di Volo, che arriva sul relitto tre giorni dopo: serbatoi a secco, nessun incendio, nessun segno di combattimento. “Zero segni di qualsiasi natura”.

E c’è Vittorio Argento, giornalista aeronautico, che legge in diretta le parole dei magistrati sulle perizie che collegavano i due eventi, e ricorda la telefonata con il sindaco di Castelsilano, esasperato da una domanda che si sente rivolgere da quarant’anni.
