Liberals push energy POVERTY, hurt the poor
Why is it that those who claim to care the most about the world’s poorest people also push environmental policies that keep the developing world living in abject poverty? In this episode of ‘Straight Up,’ veteran broadcaster Marc Patrone is joined by filmmaker, historian, and Executive Director of the Climate Discussion Nexus, John Robson, to discuss his new documentary, ‘In The Dark: Senegal As A Case Study In Energy Poverty.’
Robson explains how the left’s ‘climate’ policies have the effect of depriving Africans of the same technological development and increases in the standard of living that we have enjoyed in the West.

And for those in Calgary, there’s a special screening TONIGHT (Tuesday, Oct. 14): Plaza Theatre, 1133 Kensington Road NW, Calgary, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd0vWQvkokLf_XSDLi9hyj6QH3pFzH9IOIVNe0XY5WYt4H2rw/viewform
Robson and Patrone also discuss a new report in the Globe and Mail claiming that the Carney Government is set to make ‘climate competitiveness’ central to its economic policy. But is the world really clamouring to buy ‘low carbon’ goods from Canada, or are these really just the same green fundamentalist policies that hindered Canadian industry under the Trudeau Government (albeit under fresh branding)?
Lastly, Patrone asks Robson if Canada played any role in President Trump’s Middle East ceasefire announcement, or if Canada was just left as a passive observer in the room after charging ahead to recognize Palestinian statehood.
