Dans les années 1950, à Jérusalem, une famille pauvre se sacrifie pour préparer un beau Séder de Pessa’h. Malgré leurs difficultés, ils tiennent à vivre la fête avec dignité et joie. Ils invitent un jeune rescapé de la Shoah, Fishel, brisé par la vie et éloigné de toute pratique. Pendant le Séder, il reste fermé, distant, presque agacé par l’ambiance et les textes. Puis, en une seconde, tout bascule. Un enfant se lève et entraîne toute la nappe. La table entière s’effondre dans un fracas : vaisselle cassée, vin renversé, Matsot mêlées aux débris.
