«Людина, яка будувала українську церкву»: у Києві попрощалися з Філаретом
У Києві попрощалися з патріархом Філаретом – одним із найвідоміших і водночас найсуперечливіших церковних діячів України. Служінню церкві він присвятив 60 років: був митрополитом Російської православної церкви, а згодом став одним із лідерів руху за незалежність українського православ’я.Заупокійна Божественна літургія та чин відспівування відбулися у Михайлівському Золотоверхому монастирі. Богослужіння очолив предстоятель Православної церкви України митрополит Епіфаній у співслужінні духовенства.
Після цього жалобна процесія з тілом Філарета пройшла від монастиря через Софійську площу до Володимирського кафедрального собору. Там завершили відспівування і поховали патріарха – відповідно до його духовного заповіту.
Перед цим із Філаретом кілька днів прощалися в Києві. До храму приходили віряни, духовенство та містяни.
