Menurut laporan AP News, para penyerang lalu menargetkan kantor polisi di Kota Makhachkala.
Baku tembak dengan aparat pun tak terhindarkan hingga mengakibatkan 15 polisi tewas.
Sedikitnya 46 orang terluka dan dilarikan ke rumah sakit terdekat.
Komite Investigasi Rusia memastikan lima pelaku penyerangan telah berhasil dilumpuhkan.
Atas peristiwa ini, Rusia menetapkan tiga hari berkabung untuk wilayah Dagestan.
