Crisis energética en Cuba: apagones de más de 23 horas y colapso del sistema
Cuba atraviesa una de sus peores crisis energéticas, con apagones que superaron las 23 horas continuas en varias provincias del país. Familias enteras duermen a la intemperie, con ancianos encamados sin electricidad y niños expuestos al calor y los mosquitos. La situación, lejos de mejorar, amenaza con agravarse con la llegada del verano.El Ministerio de Energía y Minas reconoció públicamente que la baja disponibilidad en capacidades de generación es la causa principal de los cortes masivos. La máxima afectación registrada el día anterior fue de 2050 megavatios, superando los 2000 MW a las 9:30 de la noche. La termoeléctrica Antonio Guiteras, una de las más importantes del país, salió de servicio de forma imprevista, agravando aún más el déficit eléctrico nacional.
Desde el Despacho Nacional de Carga de la Unión Eléctrica, el ingeniero Félix Estrada Rodríguez ofreció un pronóstico para la jornada, estimando una afectación de alrededor de 1600 MW. El panorama que describe el comentarista del video incluye, además de los apagones, escasez de alimentos, agua putrefacta, dengue, chikungunya y otras enfermedades asociadas al deterioro de las condiciones sanitarias.
