Peningkatan produksi senjata tersebut berhasil dideteksi oleh satelit.
Dikutip dari Al Arabiya, citra satelit terkini menunjukkan perluasan besar pada dua fasilitas rudal balistik utama Iran.
Lokasinya berada di pangkalan militer Modarres dan kompleks produksi rudal Khojir.
Perusahaan satelit komersial Planet Labs telah mengambil gambar dari dua fasilitas tersebut, masing-masing pada Maret dan April 2024.
Hasilnya ditemukan lebih dari 30 bangunan baru di kedua lokasi tersebut.
Peneliti dari Middlebury Institute of International Studies, Jeffrey Lewis kemudian melakukan analisis.
Ia menyebut perluasan fasilitas rudal di Khojir dimulai pada Agustus 2023 dan di Modarres pada Oktober.
Lewis menjelaskan, banyak bangunan baru yang dikelilingi oleh tanggul tanah yang besar.
Tujuannya untuk menghentikan ledakan di satu bangunan agar tidak merembet ke bangunan lain.
"Saya pikir Iran mungkin memilih untuk tidak membendung gedung-gedung (sebelum ledakan) karena mereka tidak ingin menarik perhatian," kata Lewis.
Selain dari citra satelit, peningkatan produksi rudal juga dibenarkan oleh pejabat Iran sendiri.
Ia menyebut, beberapa gedung baru juga akan memungkinkan peningkatan produksi drone dua kali lipat.
