KOMPAS.TV - Presiden Prabowo Subianto secara resmi memutuskan empat pulau yakni, Pulau Panjang, Pulau Lipan, Mangkir Gadang (Besar), dan Mangkir Ketek (Kecil) secara administratif termasuk ke dalam Provinsi Aceh. Keputusan ini diambil setelah Ratas pada Selasa, (17/6/2025), via video conference dari Rusia.Keputusan ini didasarkan pada tinjauan dokumen dan peta topografi TNI AD tahun 1978, serta Kepmendagri No. 111 Tahun 1992, yang menegaskan bahwa keempat pulau tersebut secara historis memang berada di wilayah Aceh.
Sengketa ini bermula akibat perubahan administratif tahun 2008, kala Aceh dipisah dari Sumut, sehingga keempat pulau itu sempat tersalah alihkan ke Sumut karena kesalahan pelaporan. Keputusan peta dan regulasi oleh Kemendagri 2025 sempat mendukung Sumut, sehingga muncul protes dari Aceh.
Keputusan ini pun disambut baik oleh para tokoh Aceh dan Sumut, serta dianggap sebagai solusi damai yang menjaga persatuan NKRI.
