In Turkey, the the main opposition CHP party is facing a widening crackdown. Back in March, Istanbul's mayor, Ekrem Imamoglu, was arrested and suspended from office over corruption allegations. That triggered a wave of mass protests. Since then, more than a dozen other CHP mayors and hundreds of their staff have been detained or jailed over similar allegations.
