The stava praises Mahadev through numerous divine names and forms, invoking him as Bhutanatha, Devadeva, Kalakala, Maheshwara, Girisha, Vishwanatha, and Parvatipati. The verses vividly describe Shiva adorned with sacred ash, serpents, the crescent moon, Ganga, tiger skin, and the garland of skulls.
The hymn also celebrates Shiva as the protector of devotees, destroyer of suffering, supreme yogi, compassionate Lord, Kailasa-dweller, and eternal source of wisdom and grace. Its repeated refrain, “Bhaje Parvatīvallabhaṃ Nīlakaṇṭham,” expresses loving devotion toward Shiva, the beloved of Parvati.
This lyrical presentation of Shri Nilakantha Stava is ideal for Shiva bhakti, meditation, prayer, Sanskrit chanting, Mahadev worship, and peaceful devotional listening.
