Pemecatan dilakukan oleh Dewan Kehormatan Penyelenggara Pemilu (DKPP) RI, Rabu (3/7/2024).
Dalam sidang terungkap bahwa Hasyim melakukan tindak asusila terhadap seorang perempuan berinisial CAT, anggota Panitia Pemilihan Luar Negeri (PPLN) Den Haag, Belanda.
Meski kehilangan jabatan, Hasyim justru merasa bersyukur karena terbebas dari tugas-tugas berat sebagai ketua KPU.
"Pada kesempatan ini saya ingin menyampaikan saya mengucapkan Alhamdulillah dan saya ucapkan terima kasih kepada DKPP yang telah membebaskan saya dari tugas-tugas berat sebagai anggota KPU yang menyelenggarakan pemilu," kata Hasyim di kantor KPU, dikutip dari Tribunnews, Kamis (4/7/2024).
