Tourists from Africa, as well as India and Pakistan, had their visas rejected at a far higher rate than European and most South American tourists, sparking fury from left-wing activists in Canada who are using this data as an attempt to prove that Canada's immigration laws are racist. The World Cup data from Canada's immigration department mirrors overall visa declines and is a positive signal that Canada's immigration reforms are, at least in this case, actually working.
