A chinesa Chery já tem seus carros produzidos no Brasil pelo grupo Caoa. Mas, essa empresa já popularizada no Brasil tem outras marcas chinesas e decidiu trazer, sem a Caoa, duas outras para o nosso mercado.
São os SUVs Omoda de luxo e os modelos Jaecoo, do tipo Off-Road. O Omoda 7 é o primeiro a chegar da China, mas ela também quer produzir no Brasil, começando por um SUV mais compacto, o Omoda 5.
Mas, com isso vem o questionamento: produzir onde? Ora, a Chery anos atrás construiu uma fábrica em Jacareí (SP) assumida pela Caoa, que manteve lá a produção por uns tempos.
Depois essa fábrica foi fechada, e a Caoa passou a produzir os carros da Chery junto com os Hyundai em Anápolis (GO). Então a Chery é meio proprietária dessa fábrica, que continua fechada em Jacareí, e o resto é fácil de adivinhar.
