Dagli angeli del fango nell’alluvione di Firenze del 1966 ai tanti giovani accorsi per il sostegno alle comunità colpite da calamità naturali. Si potrebbe compilare un calendario della solidarietà. Sono iniziative e comportamenti iscritti nella storia dell’Italia. Il volontariato è stato fattore di unità. Ha contribuito a scelte importanti, basti pensare al cammino che ha portato a potenziare la Protezione Civile. Il volontariato non è solo pronto soccorso delle grandi emergenze, offre significato alla quotidianità delle persone. Disegna l’idea effettiva di comunità, è una forza culturale, sociale ed educativa. Attua i principi della nostra Costituzione come solidarietà e partecipazione”.
