Namun, ada bangunan masjid yang tetap kokoh, meski bangunan di sekitarnya telah hancur hingga terbakar.
Dikutip dari The Cradle.co, militer Israel membakar seluruh bagian penyeberangan di sisi Palestina.
Hal ini semakin menghambat fasilitasi masuknya bantuan ke wilayah kantong tersebut.
Dari video yang diunggah IDF, tampak sebuah buldoser menghancurkan bangunan-bangunan.
Di video berikutnya, tampak wilayah Rafah sudah tak utuh dan kerusakan dimana-mana.
Namun, ada sebuah masjid yang masih tampak kokoh berdiri.
Melalui keterangan unggahannya, Israel menyebut, hal terpenting saat ini ialah mencengkeram Poros Philadelphia.
Tujuannya yaitu untuk menutup terowongan-terowongan perlawanan Hamas.
“Yang terpenting di Rafah adalah cengkeraman Poros Philadelphia, di atas dan di bawah tanah, untuk menutup pipa oksigen Hamas. Sejauh mana IDF mengontrol poros tersebut? … IDF sudah mulai memikirkan poros Philadelphia untuk jangka panjang, bagaimana mempertahankannya seiring berjalannya waktu.” tulis IDF.
Menanggapi hal itu, Hamas menyebut tindakan tersebut sebagai kriminal dan perilaku yang brutal.
