Foi pesquisador visitante em Sociologia do Direito na Università Degli Studi di Milano, Itália. É professor da pós-graduação em Direito da FGV-SP (FGVLaw) e coordenador do Grupo Propriedade Intelectual, Direitos Humanos e Inclusão (GPIDHI) da Direito FGV SP. Coordenou projetos sobre propriedade intelectual e internet junto à UNESCO, ao Ministério da Justiça e ao Ministério da Cultura. É autor de livros sobre propriedade intelectual, com destaque para as obras "Função Social do Direito de Autor" e "Direito Autoral e Autoria Colaborativa na Economia da Informação em Rede". É fundador da Escola da Autoria Contemporânea, que oferece cursos e oficinas sobre autoria nas artes contemporâneas.
