Красноуфимский район, что в Свердловской области — настоящая жемчужина природы: альпийские луга и живописные горы, поросшие лесом. Ещё недавно это был преуспевающий промышленный и сельскохозяйственный куст. Теперь людей, живущих здесь, чиновники лишили всего: не сохранили рабочие места, закрывают школы, детские сады, а вдобавок — топят нечистотами. В районе начались отравления детей.Люди, отброшенные из XXI века, прямиком в средневековье, пытаются своими силами сохранить социальную сферу района — на свои пенсии они содержат хоккейную команду, спортивные объекты, музей, ремонтируют здание, где хотят открыть детский сад.
Этот документальный фильм о героизме россиян, которые до сих пор выживают, вопреки воле «слуг государевых».
