This is the essay I've been alluding to for some time. I'm sorry if it hits in an unpleasant way, the desire is not to just shock you for no reason. I know I revealed something really personal here. I hadn't told you that I like The Lord of the Rings now. In fact, I'd said the opposite, that it never really connected with me. I hope this doesn't feel like a betrayal.
I used to be pretty meh on the whole thing, but Tolkien's florid prose and wonderful world-building has me enraptured. What I found so striking? The absolute dedication to showing why this world should be saved. I like the songs, they serve a vital narrative purpose.
Next video will center around Lord of the Rings, IP, and cynicism. I'm doing the pie-face skits (with a new twist) and dunking on Halo fans. I hate Halo fans so much it's unreal. I'm not saying this all to reassure you of this channel's direction, I'm genuinely so excited to just tell Halo fans I hate them again.
