Senin siang (29/9) kartu identitas jurnalis Istana atas nama jurnalis CNN Indonesia Diana Valencia dikembalikan oleh Biro Pers dan Media Istana setelah sempat dicabut di akhir pekan. Kepala BPMI bertindak atas nama inisiatif pribadi dan menyampaikan maaf. Kartu identitas yang kemarin dicabut merupakan ID peliputan istana, bukan ID Jurnalis Diana. Dengan ini, Diana bisa kembali meliput di lingkungan Istana dan agenda kepresidenan.Kejadian pencabutan ID peliputan istana Diana yang terjadi akhir pekan lalu adalah peristiwa terakhir yang tidak boleh terulang lagi di masa mendatang. BPMI Sekretariat Presiden dalam kegiatan sehari-harinya akan selalu menjunjung tinggi asas kebebasan pers sebagaimana tertuang di UU no 40 tahun 1999. BPMI Sekretariat Presiden selalu menghormati pers sebagai pilar keempat demokrasi dan mendukung kerja pers yang profesional, kritis, akuntabel.
