TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Wabah virus mematikan, West Nile kini terjadi di Israel.100 orang dilaporkan telah terinfeksi dengan beberapa orang dirawat di rumah sakit, dan lima dilaporkan tewas.
Sebagian besar pasien adalah penduduk Israel Tengah.
"Enam pasien dirawat di rumah sakit di Sheba Medical Center, tiga di antaranya mendapat ventilasi dan dalam kondisi kritis," muat laman itu, dikutip Senin (1/7/2024).
"Di Meir Medical Center, 25 pasien demam West Nile dirawat di rumah sakit, dua di antaranya dalam kondisi serius dan diberi ventilasi serta obat penenang," tambah laman itu lagi.
"Sejauh ini, lima pasien meninggal di Rabin Medical Center-Kampus Beilinson di Petah Tikva," jelasnya mengenai pasien meninggal.
West Nile sendiri disebabkan oleh virus yang hidup di alam liar.
Perjalanan penyakit dimulai ketika nyamuk menggigit dan menularkan virus ke hewan dan manusia.
Gejalanya meliputi demam, sakit kepala, lemas, nyeri sendi dan otot hingga mual.
Mereka yang berisiko terpapar adalah pasien dengan penyakit kronis.(Tribun-Video.Com)
