Учёные обнаружили огромную, казалось бы невозможную планету, которая полностью нарушает правила астрофизики: она выживает рядом с одним из самых разрушительных объектов во Вселенной. Эта гигантская планета размером с Юпитер, известная как PSR J2322-2650b, сейчас вращается вокруг пульсара — сжатого, стремительно вращающегося ядра мёртвой звезды, взорвавшейся в катастрофической сверхновой. По всем известным законам науки эта планета должна была полностью испариться от взрыва. Но вместо этого она обращается вокруг своего пугающего хозяина на опасно близком расстоянии — всего около 1,6 миллиона километров, — несётся вокруг мёртвой звезды с такой скоростью, что целый год там длится всего 7,8 часа. Гравитация невероятно плотного пульсара настолько экстремальна, что, как считают астрономы, мощные приливные силы физически деформировали и растянули всю планету, превратив её в гигантский искажённый лимон.Анимация создана для Adme.
