Regista de «Le assaggiatrici», nuovo presidente della Cineteca di Milano, Soldini è a Venezia come membro della giura Venezia Opera Prima «Luigi De Laurentis», presieduta dalla regista scozzese Charlotte Welles e di cui fa parte anche la regista franco-tunisina Erige Sehiri. Il 4 settembre riceverà il Women in Cinema Award, assegnato a figure di eccellenza nel cinema e nelle arti affini.
