PM Modi Slams Pakistan for Backing Terror at BRICS, "Victim of Double Standards" | N18G

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is attending the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. While addressing the event, he took a jab at Pakistan for supporting terrorism and thanked all the nations that stood in condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir. PM Modi stated that India is a victim of terror, while Pakistan is a supporter. He also emphasised that providing silent treatment to terrorists should not be acceptable. PM Modi underscored the need for reforms in institutions such as the UN Security Council, WTO, and multilateral development banks. Additionally, he highlighted that the Global South has often been a victim of double standards, whether in development, resource distribution, or security-related issues. He said that on matters like climate finance, sustainable development, and access to technology, developing countries have received little more than token gestures. He also welcomed the inclusion of Indonesia as a member of the group, along with ten other nations joining as partner countries. Before the commencement of the event, PM Modi shared a warm hug with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. India is also set to host the BRICS Summit in 2026.
