Mit der Einführung von Netflix schien die Video-Piraterie eine lustige Sidenote der Geschichte des Internets zu werden. All die mehr oder weniger verrückten Geschichten über PirateBay, Movie2k und kinox.to - das alles schien Teil der Internetgeschichte zu sein. Dank Netflix war es jetzt viel einfacher und bequemer, Filme und Serien legal zu schauen, statt sich den Rechner mit Viren zu verseuchen.

Aber trotzdem erlebt Piraterie gerade ein Comeback. Immer mehr Menschen schauen Filme wieder auf Piraten-Seiten. Denn Streaming ist so teuer und kompliziert geworden, dass die illegalen Webseiten an Attraktivität gewonnen haben. Paramount+, WOW, RTL+, Apple TV+, Disney+, Amazon Prime - sie alle buhlen um unsere Aufmerksamkeit. Und natürlich auch um unseren Geldbeutel. Wer die neuesten Serien schauen will, braucht viele Abos.

Überhaupt werden viele Aspekte unseres Alltags mittlerweile von Abos bestimmt. BMW überlegte zwischendurch sogar die Sitzheizung in ihren Autos nur noch gegen eine Abo-Gebühr frei zu schalten. Was wie eine Folge Blackmirror klingt, ist mittlerweile trauriger ernst. Doch warum ist das so? Und wohin führt uns die Aboisierung des Abendlandes? Darum soll es in diesem Video gehen!
