Ancianos en Cuba: Otaola muestra testimonios de adultos mayores que viven con el techo caído y en condiciones precarias, y pregunta a dónde van los fondos destinados a las personas vulnerables.

El video reúne tres momentos. Primero, un hombre de 87 años, según el presentador, que pedía mangos en la calle y cuya imagen provocó opiniones opuestas en la audiencia. Después, una familia de adultos mayores a la que se le cayó el techo de la casa y en la que, según el testimonio, una persona tiene las caderas fracturadas. Por último, un fragmento en el que Díaz-Canel habla de fondos destinados, entre otros, a personas con discapacidad. CpM no pudo identificar los videos originales ni la fecha de esas declaraciones, así que se describen como los presenta el programa.

El contexto publicado por la prensa ayuda a medir el problema: según CiberCuba, el 26,7 % de la población cubana tiene 60 años o más, existen 156 hogares de ancianos con 12.697 camas, 51 municipios no tienen servicios para adultos mayores y el 99 % de 506 jubilados encuestados considera insuficiente su pensión.

Otaola sostiene que esos ancianos son “la generación de la revolución” y que el sistema los abandonó. Es su tesis política, y el video por sí solo no la demuestra. Más allá de la ideología de cada persona, plantea una pregunta de derechos: quién garantiza cuidados y una pensión digna en la vejez.
