Sono entrati in azione dalle 7.40 di domenica 16 agosto, con i pescaggi al lago di Molveno e i successivi rilasci in quota, i due Canadair del Corpo nazionale dei vigili del fuoco, coordinati dal Coau del Dipartimento Protezione civile nazionale, intervenuti in supporto della Protezione civile trentina per domare l'incendio che da settimane divampa sulle pendici del monte Bedolé in località Contra, sopra Spormaggiore. Un'operazione di spegnimento particolarmente complessa, a causa dell'altitudine, della natura impervia della zona - caratterizzata anche dalla presenza di salti di roccia - e del vento. Attualmente sono impegnati nelle operazioni una cinquantina di vigili del fuoco volontari provenienti dai diversi distretti, affiancati dal corpo forestale (stazione di Paganella), dall'elicottero dei vigili del fuoco permanenti di Trento e dai mezzi aerei del dispositivo nazionale, mentre sul lago di Molveno operano i vigili del fuoco volontari del corpo locale per la sicurezza delle operazioni dei Canadair.
