Robert Fico, primo ministro slovacco, ha condannato aspramente l’attacco militare USA al Venezuela, definendolo una violazione del diritto internazionale. Ha usato toni critici anche nei confronti dell’Unione Europea, chiedendone coerenza con le posizioni sull’Ucraina. Parallelamente, ha espresso gratitudine per l’invito di Donald Trump a discutere un accordo nucleare tra Slovacchia e USA.
Critiche all’Attacco USA
Fico ha descritto l’operazione americana come “un’ulteriore prova del decadimento dell’ordine mondiale creato dopo la Seconda Guerra Mondiale”. Ha aggiunto: “Il diritto internazionale non viene rispettato, la forza militare viene utilizzata senza un mandato delle Nazioni Unite e chiunque sia grande e potente fa ciò che vuole per perseguire i propri interessi”. Come premier di un piccolo paese, ha ribadito: “Respingo con decisione un tale sovvertimento del diritto internazionale, come ho fatto per la guerra in Iraq, il Kosovo o l’Ucraina”.
Ma c'è una postilla: "Almeno Trump ha fatto tutto alla luce del sole. Se Biden fosse stato presidente, non sarebbe successo altrettanto". Un particolare che non assolve, ma allevia la posizione del tikoon nella visione del premier slovacco.
Provocazione all’UE
Fico ha sfidato Bruxelles: “Sono molto curioso di come l’UE reagirà all’attacco al Venezuela, che merita una condanna”. Ha proseguito: “O condannerà l’uso della forza militare americana in Venezuela e sarà così coerente con le posizione sulla guerra in Ucraina, o, come al solito, rimarrà farisaica”. Queste parole sottolineano i suoi dubbi sui doppi standard europei.[osservatoriosullalegalita +2]
Poco prima, Fico aveva annunciato un invito da Trump per discutere un “accordo intergovernativo che faciliterà le collaborazioni nel campo dell’energia nucleare”. Il progetto coinvolge Westinghouse per un nuovo reattore da 13-15 miliardi di euro, con visita prevista nel 2026 per il Mondiale di calcio. Ha espresso “gratitudine” per l’invito, legandolo al 250° anniversario dell’indipendenza USA.
