(Agenzia Vista) "Quando vengono ammazzate persone innocenti civili, quando vengono rapiti ragazze, ragazzi e anziani non c'è niente che possa giustificare quei crimini, nemmeno il fatto che ci fosse una lunga storia prima del 7 ottobre, una storia durata decenni che ha visto l'oppressione sistematica della popolazione palestinese, le morti, gli arresti arbitrari, la pulizia etnica; tutte cose iniziate anni e anni prima del 7 ottobre, ma che non sono e non possono mai essere una giustificazione né morale né politica. Pensavo, pensavamo questo due anni fa e non abbiamo cambiato idea. Aggiungo, signor Presidente, che trovo gravissimo non aver visto altrettanta unanime solidarietà e indignazione per quello che è successo nei mesi successivi. E mi dispiace molto che quest'Assemblea non abbia chiamato per nome il genocidio della popolazione palestinese, ormai riconosciuto tale da tutti i principali studiosi del mondo: una complice rimozione - diciamo così - questa, sì, frutto di pura strumentalizzazione politica. E allora perché questa differenza? Noi non siamo alleati di Hamas: siamo tutt'altra cosa da Hamas. Ci siamo formati con Arafat e con l'Organizzazione per la liberazione della Palestina (OLP) e sappiamo distinguere bene tra la resistenza, quella riconosciuta finanche dal diritto internazionale, e gli attacchi brutali ai civili. Non siamo alleati di Hamas e non abbiamo alcuna remora nel condannare il 7 ottobre. Altre forze politiche, invece, in questo Paese sono state e sono alleate di Netanyahu e per questo, evidentemente, non hanno mai mostrato alcuna indignazione per questi due anni di genocidio che sono trascorsi.
