Webuild, inaugurata in Etiopia la più grande diga d'Africa
ROMA (ITALPRESS) - Il più grande progetto idroelettrico mai realizzato in Africa. E' stata inaugurata la Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, opera monumentale progettata e realizzata da Webuild, che segna l'inizio di una nuova era per l'Etiopia, Paese al centro della transizione verde del continente. Alla cerimonia ufficiale hanno preso parte Pietro Salini, amministratore delegato di Webuild, al fianco del Primo Ministro etiope Abiy Ahmed Ali e dei capi di Stato dei paesi africani che con l’Etiopia condividono uno scopo comune di crescita e unità. Con una capacità installata di oltre 5.000 Mega Watt e una produzione annua attesa di 15.700 GigaWattora, GERD è in grado di generare energia per una quantità equivalente a tre centrali nucleari di medie dimensioni. Il bacino artificiale, lungo 172 chilometri, può contenere fino a 74 miliardi di metri cubi d’acqua.
