La loca historia de los mormones
La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días, el mormonismo, es una religión fascinante y exitosa nacida en Estados Unidos. Con más de 17 millones de miembros, goza de enorme influencia en la cultura pop, política y economía. Fundada en 1830 por Joseph Smith, tras afirmar tener visiones divinas y traducir planchas de oro para crear el Libro de Mormón, la fe sufrió décadas de persecución violenta. Tras el asesinato de Smith, Brigham Young lideró un éxodo histórico hacia Utah, su actual sede mundial. Los mormones destacan por su estricto estilo de vida: prohíben el alcohol y café, viven la castidad, donan su diezmo y realizan sacrificadas misiones. En sus templos sagrados celebran rituales exclusivos, como matrimonios eternos o bautismos por los muertos. Habiendo abolido la poligamia oficialmente en 1890, su teología promete a los fieles alcanzar el Reino Celestial, aspirando a convertirse en dioses para siempre.Por Javier Rubio Donzé
