Una campaña de destitución contra 24 legisladores del Partido Kuomintang de China (KMT) en la región china de Taiwan fracasó el sábado. Tras el cierre de las urnas, el "no" superó al "sí" en los 24 casos, lo que supuso una amplia victoria del KMT en la primera ronda de la campaña de destitución a gran escala. Los observadores creen que, aunque la campaña parecía iniciada por "grupos civiles", en realidad estaba orquestada por las autoridades del PDP, dirigidas por Lai Ching-te, en un intento de invertir su desventaja en la legislatura.
