The United States is reportedly evacuating non-essential staff from its Middle East military bases, including the Al Udeid US military base in Qatar. In a press statement, the Qatari government said the move was in response to current regional tensions. It comes after Iran threatened to strike US Military bases in the Middle East if Washington intervenes on behalf of protesters.
