Waffenruhe im Gazastreifen: Hilfslieferungen erwartet

Seit gestern Mittag gilt die Waffenruhe im Gaza-Krieg und bislang hält sie auch. Kaum trat diese Waffenruhe in Kraft, machten sich Zehntausende Palästinenser:innen auf den Weg zurück in den Norden des Küsten-Gebiets, aus dem sie vor Beginn der israelischen Boden-Offensive geflohen waren. Zurück, in eine völlig zerstörte Heimat und eine ungewisse Zukunft.

Nachdem das israelische Militär in den vergangenen Monaten zahlreiche Hochhäuser in der Stadt Gaza bombardiert hatte, ist die Verwüstung diesmal noch größer als bei Beginn der letzten Waffenruhe im Januar.

Das Welternährungsprogramm der Vereinten Nationen rief die israelische Regierung auf, rasch weitere Hilfslieferungen für die Menschen im Gazastreifen zu ermöglichen. An den Grenzübergängen stünden 60.000 Tonnen Nahrungsmittel zur Einfahrt bereit, weitere 100.000 Tonnen seien in der Region kurzfristig verfügbar. Damit lasse sich Gaza fast drei Monate lang versorgen.
