(LaPresse) Il Museo del Louvre ha una lunga storia di furti. Il più famoso risale al 1911, quando il quadro della Gioconda scomparve dalla sua cornice. Fu rubata da Vincenzo Peruggia, un ex dipendente che si nascose all'interno del museo e uscì con il dipinto sotto il cappotto. L'opera fu recuperata due anni dopo a Firenze, un episodio che contribuì a rendere il ritratto di Leonardo da Vinci l'opera d'arte più famosa al mondo. Nel 1983 due armature rinascimentali furono rubate dal Louvre e recuperate solo quasi quarant'anni dopo. Nel gennaio del 1995 un visitatore tagliò un dipinto di Lancelot Théodore Turpin de Crissé (1782-1859), Cervo in un paesaggio, esposto nei saloni Napoleone III dell'ala Richelieu. Pochi giorni dopo un'alabarda del peso di 17 chilogrammi fu strappata dal monumento scolpito da Martin Desjardins (1637-1694), esposto nella Cour Puget.
