Pole position, vittorie, sorpassi spettacolari e duelli al limite. Alla scuderia automobilistica Unimore Racing (Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia) vivono tutte le emozioni in pista. E hanno vissuto anche quella di un incidente di gara. È accaduto all'Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola, durante la tappa europea del campionato mondiale di automobilismo a guida autonoma. Protagoniste della lotta per il successo sono state infatti le vetture autonome di Unimore Racing e del Politecnico di Milano, con il team PoliMOVE. Le due monoposto si sono contese la leadership per gran parte della gara inaugurale europea del campionato, confermando il ruolo da protagoniste assolute nel panorama mondiale della guida autonoma. La corsa, però, ha riservato un finale amaro.Quando mancavano soltanto due giri alla conclusione, le vetture dei due atenei italiani, in quel momento al primo e al secondo posto della classifica provvisoria, sono entrate in contatto durante una delle fasi più concitate della gara.
