Ia meminta maaf kepada rakyat dan berharap diberi kesempatan untuk menyelesaikan satu tugas terakhir.
Melalui akun Instagram pribadinya, Rabu (10/9) Politikus Partai Gerindra itu mengungkapkan alasan dirinya mundur dari kursi DPR.
Anggota Komisi VII DPR RI itu menyebut jika pernyataannya dalam sebuah podcast yang tayang di Youtube pada (28/2/2025) telah dijadikan bahan gorengan untuk menyakiti hati rakyat pada pertengahan Agustus.
Putri dari pengusaha Hashim Djojohadikusumo itu mengatakan dalam podcast itu ia berbincang selama 42 menit terkait berbagai isu.
Namun menurutnya ada bagian yang disengaja dipotong oleh pihak tertentu, yang diduga untuk menyulut amarah masyarakat.
Menurutnya ucapannya yang seharusnya 2 menit kemudian dipotong menjadi beberapa kalimat oleh pihak yang tak bertanggung jawab.
Namun ia menegaskan tak ada maksud untuk meremehkan bahkan merendahkan upaya dan usaha yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat.
Ia menceritakan pengalamannya pernah merintis sebuah perusahaan starup dimana isinya adalah anak-anak muda, sehingga paham betul mengenai hal tersebut.
Akan tetapi Sara merasa kata-kata yang dilontarkan tersebut telanjur menyakiti hati masyarakat.
Atas dasar itu, ia mengajukan permohonan mengundurkan diri sebagai Anggota DPR RI fraksi Gerindra.
Namun ia berharap masih bisa diberi kesempatan sekali lagi ikut membahas RUU Kepariwisataan di DPR.
