BUNDESTAG IN BERLIN: Deutschland verabschiedet sich ‒ Trauerstaatsakt für Rita Süssmuth | LIVESTREAMDie Spitzen des deutschen Staates nehmen heute Abschied von der früheren Bundestagspräsidentin Rita Süssmuth. Der Trauerstaatsakt beginnt mit einem Gottesdienst in der St.-Hedwigs-Kathedrale.
Wegen des Trauerstaatsakts für die frühere Bundestagspräsidentin Rita Süssmuth kommt es heute in Berlin-Mitte zu Verkehrseinschränkungen. Um 10.00 Uhr beginnt ein ökumenischer Gottesdienst in der St.-Hedwigs-Kathedrale am Bebelplatz. Aus Sicherheitsgründen ist der Bereich um Bebelplatz, Staatsoper und St.-Hedwigs-Kathedrale zwischen 7.00 und 14.00 Uhr gesperrt. Betroffen ist laut Verkehrsinformationszentrale der Abschnitt Unter den Linden in Richtung Alexanderplatz bis zur Französischen Straße.
Die CDU-Politikerin war Anfang Februar im Alter von 88 Jahren gestorben und ist inzwischen in ihrer Heimatstadt Neuss beigesetzt worden. Nun steht in der Hauptstadt das offizielle Gedenken an.
