62 años han transcurrido desde que China y Cuba establecieron relaciones diplomáticas, convirtiéndose entonces la nación isleña en la primera latinoamericana que entablaba tales vínculos con Beijing. En las últimas seis décadas, ambos pueblos, bajo la guía de sus gobiernos, han continuado enfrascados en la edificación de sociedades más justas, implementando modelos socialistas con características propias, y abogando a la par por relaciones basadas en la igualdad y el respeto mutuo a nivel internacional. Estas aspiraciones comunes, sumadas a un espíritu solidario que se ha puesto de manifiesto en todos estos años, han forjado una cercanía y admiración recíprocas que han servido de cimiento para intercambios más frecuentes entre sus líderes y pueblos.
