30 Dead In J&K, Himachal, Punjab & Delhi On High Alert As Rain-Triggered Floods Hit North India|N18G

Severe floods triggered by heavy rain hit India, causing casualties, traffic disruptions, and swollen rivers. In Jammu and Kashmir, at least 30 people have died due to landslide near the Vaishno Devi shrine route. The pilgrimage has been suspended until rescue operations are completed. A cloudburst also occurred in Doda district, killing at least four people. Authorities have ordered the closure of all educational institutions and offices. J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also spoke to Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the situation. In Himachal Pradesh, devastating floods have hit the tourist town of Manali, where the Beas River overflowed, sweeping away shops, homes, and a hotel. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami also announced about $6,000 in aid for victims of the flash floods in the Tharali and Dharali regions. Severe landslides in Arunachal Pradesh have disrupted movement along the national highway, with damage reported between Padma and Chepara area. In Odisha, over 160 villages have been submerged as rivers continue to overflow. The Indian Army is also working swiftly as incessant rain worsened the situation in Kapurthala district. Heavy rain warnings have been issued for Delhi and Haryana.
