MIT looked at what AI actually killed and holy sh*t...
MIT looked at what AI is actually replacing, and the answer isn’t entire professions. It’s entry-level work.Researchers mapped more than 32,000 skills across 923 occupations and found that AI is especially capable of handling the structured tasks traditionally given to junior employees. Drafting documents, compiling data, basic coding, and administrative work. Senior workers are often benefiting instead. AI makes experienced lawyers, engineers, analysts, and managers faster and more productive, reducing the need to hire people underneath them. That creates a dangerous problem. Entry-level jobs were never just cheap labor, they were how graduates gained experience and became tomorrow’s managers and executives.
AI may not be destroying the corporate ladder, it may be removing the bottom rung.
