Flammen-Drama in Mannheim! Zeugen sehen Verdächtige fliehen
Mannheim: Am frühen Dienstagmorgen, kurz nach 4:00 Uhr, ist im Mannheimer R-Quadrat ein Wohn- und Geschäftshaus aus bislang unbekannter Ursache in Brand geraten.Unmittelbar nach Brandausbruch beobachteten Zeugen mehrere Personen, die vom Gebäude wegrannten. Eine umgehend eingeleitete, umfangreiche Fahndung verlief bislang ohne Erfolg.
Nach aktuellem Stand wurden zwei Bewohner des Mehrfamilienhauses durch das Einatmen von Rauchgas leicht verletzt.
Die genaue Schadenshöhe sowie das Ausmaß der Zerstörung sind derzeit noch unklar, dürften jedoch im Bereich von mehreren hunderttausend Euro liegen.
Die Spurensicherung wurde von Spezialistinnen und Spezialisten der Kriminaltechnik übernommen. Die weiteren Ermittlungen führt das Kriminalkommissariat Mannheim der Kriminalpolizeidirektion Heidelberg.
Zeugen, die in den frühen Morgenstunden im Bereich des R-Quadrats verdächtige Personen oder Fahrzeuge beobachtet haben oder Hinweise zur Brandentstehung geben können, werden gebeten, sich unter der Rufnummer 0621 174-4444 beim kriminalpolizeilichen Hinweistelefon oder bei jeder anderen Polizeidienststelle zu melden.
