Thousands gather in London to watch rare partial solar eclipse
Thousands of people gathered at London's Primrose Hill to watch a rare partial solar eclipse.About 90 percent of the Sun was covered at the peak of the eclipse in London, creating a striking change in the sky.
For many younger spectators, it was their first experience of such an event, with the last eclipse of similar coverage in London occurring about 27 years ago.
Crowds watched as the sky darkened and temperatures dropped, turning the event into a shared experience in the heart of the capital.
One spectator described the eclipse as a special opportunity for the community to come together and witness a rare event.
The gathering at Primrose Hill drew people who arrived prepared to spend time watching the phenomenon, including with picnic blankets.
The eclipse provided a rare moment for thousands of Londoners to look up and experience the event together.
