Thailand And Cambodia Agree To Immediate Ceasefire After Talks In Malaysia | Spotlight | N18GThailand and Cambodia's leaders agreed Monday to an "unconditional" ceasefire after five days of fighting along their jungle-clad frontier that has killed at least 36 people and forced tens of thousands to flee. The announcement follows a mediation meeting at Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s place in Kuala Lumpur, which currently chairs the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Thailand Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai and Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Manet thanked US President Donald Trump for supporting the talks. At least 36 people have been killed and more than 200,000 displaced as the countries, both popular tourist destinations, fought over a smattering of contested border temples.
